We’ve been watching the evolution of Paul Reed Smith’s new acoustic guitars very closely. First we used one on the Tony McManus’ Maker’s Mark, The Dream Guitars Sessions, CD. Then Paul was kind enough to send us a demo guitar to critique. We put these guitars through the paces and have found them to be inspiring. Luthier Steve Fischer, formerly of McPherson Guitars, joined Paul to design the Tonare Grand and Angelus models. They employ a hybrid X and Fan Bracing pattern that really works to energize the top. We hand selected this Tonare Grand during a visit to the PRS Factory (see video below) and it’s one of the very first Private Stock acoustics from PRS. Premium Cocobolo Rosewood body, fingerboard, bridge and headplate, Bearclaw European Spruce, Select Green Abalone trim, including the new open PRS birds, this one has the best of everything and the tone is magical. Big, loud and clear as a bell. They come complete with a PRS active pickup system based on the McIntyre Feather, which we love, and an Ameritage case. We are proud to be offering Private Stock PRS acoustic guitars. Watch a video of the DG Staff testing out guitars at the PRS Factory.
