An excellent chance to land a Brazilian Rosewood Collings that’s opened up and is ready for more action! This 2006 D2HBaaaA does Bill justice: strong and focused, trebles that punch and bass that kicks, and a midrange that keeps up and fills it all out. Adirondack Spruce top with AAA Brazilian back and sides, herringbone trim and nickel Waverly tuners, and a 1 11/16″ nut and V neck with a slick setup.

This is a spec build for Dream Guitars from C.F. Holcomb. It sure went beyond our expectations! Lovely Flamed Maple all around, with a Righteous Sounds Pickup that really brings this already vivid and powerful Resonator to life. Whether you’re a old time player or you’re into the blues this machine will deliver! Cocobolo appointments that provide an exquisite contrast to the maple. This guitar is ready for the road, studio, or collection.

The Vintage Series embodies understated elegance. The traditional aesthetics of a spruce top fused with a robust unidirectional carbon soundboard is finished with an amber tint and supplemented with simple appointments.

The Dreadnought is the traditional workhorse of acoustic guitar music. With a large, deep body and wide waist, RainSong’s DR has the powerful bass and ringing treble of a great rhythmic guitar, but still maintains a wonderfully balanced sound, with clear distinction among individual notes. From rhythm to lead, the DR makes its presence known. Capable of cutting through admirably in any acoustic setting, the DR is loud enough to compete with banjoes, mandolins and other traditional volume hogs.

Note, these photos represent this model from Rainsong, not the specific guitar we have in stock.

It is an exquisite treat to have this 2010 Claxton EM-C in your hands. The voice is crisp, with added sweetness in the mids and treble for a great mix of warmth and precision; fingerstyle rarely sounds so fine as it does here. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides are augmented with gorgeous ink lines and dramatic figure; Spruce on top which has opened up oh so well; silky setup that’s as easy as breathing. How to go wrong with this guitar? The only way we can think is to not play it. Ed has recently retired–congrats, Ed!–meaning there won’t be any more guitars like this coming down the line. All wrapped up in a sturdy Calton case for maximum safety.

Friends, you won’t want to put this one down for a heartbeat. It’s dried out and woken up so much since 1936, this Gibson L-00 weighs next to nothing but packs a powerful, expressive, and frankly loud! voice that works great for fingerpicking, and honestly a fair bit of flatpick work too. Quick and energetic, it’s practically humming. Mahogany back and sides plus Adirondack Spruce top and tiger stripe pickguard, original finish, a recent refret for excellent playability, and replaced Kluson-style tuners for modern tuneability (originals included with case).

How sweet can a guitar be? Apparently, just a little bit sweeter. This 2010 Déjà Vu San Antonio 28 from Blazer & Henkes is what dessert would be if it also contained all the richness, vitamins, and nutrients of a three course meal. Which is to say, this B&H OM is the complete package. Receptive to a light attack, plus headroom for heavier, gorgeous tonewoods throughout, and an expansive midrange that makes for an enveloping voice that feels instantly familiar to your ear. The back and sides are Brazilian Rosewood, and on top they’ve used a set of Austrian Alpine Moonspruce with a bit of bearclaw figuring for added drama. Elsewhere, vintage 28-style appointments. Now, the practice of using moon-harvested Spruce goes back for hundreds of years, and Willi and Rudolph have garnered their premium supply from loggers who harvest strictly according to the traditional moon calendar for forestry, namely during a new moon phase when the water content inside wood cells is at its lowest and in the fall when Spruce trees are in their resting period. The result is a quality of Spruce that dries faster, matures more quickly, and is less prone to shrinking damage over time. We’ve always loved Moonspruce because, well, it sounds great! But there’s so much more that goes into making it such a premium top wood offering.

Sharp dressed for a special occasion–this 2013 Black Tie Classic from Bill Comins is appropriately named. European Maple back and sides with sweet figuring pairs with X-braced European Spruce on top, understated Ebony appointments, bridge, tailpiece, and pickguard, and outfitted with a floating Kent Armstrong humbucker. Together in a 17 inch package, the result is a classically modern archtop that plays like glass in your hands. The acoustic voice is punchy and quick, even with flatwounds, while the amplified tone is thick, expressive, and dynamic. This Comins Black Tie Classic is one-hundred percent the professional, dressed to impress and ready to sing.

Gorgeous from tuners to tail, our latest brand new Bresnan GS is sharp dressed and packing serious tone. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with some sweet figuring pairs with Adirondack Spruce on top for crispness, power, and headroom. This GS holds up handsomely under a heavier attack, thanks to this stiff Adi top. The voice combines a warm bass response with a wide midrange and focused trebles for a clean, dynamic response. The GS body occupies that sweet spot between big and small, allowing the player an extensive palette of different tunings and attacks.

Here’s an articulate piece for the nylon string player who wants to enjoy the ergonomic perks of modern steel string designs, without compromising the warmth and range required for the classical repertoire. This 2010 Crossover Classical from Kevin Muiderman manages this task handsomely with Cocobolo back and sides and a Bearclaw Sitka Spruce double top, cutaway, radiused fingerboard, and position markers. Gilbert tuners at the headstock for extra reliable tuning, and under the hood we have a K&K Trinity dual source pickup. All wrapped up in a custom Ameritage case (with roller wheels to make transport a snap).

Kevin Muiderman applies double top designs to this Wave body for added power and push, without losing the warmth and roundness of Cedar. Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides doesn’t hurt, either! The neck carve has a slightly slender profile for deft lefthand work. Additional features include a cutaway and “wave” body style with a slight body wedge for added ease of play. A K&K Trinity pickup system and custom Pegasus case complete the picture. Coming to us from 2008, this Muiderman Wave has opened up sweetly.

The Baritone that remains balanced and defined across every strings is a rare thing, indeed, but Bruce and Matt Petros have managed precisely that with this 2009 Tunnel 13 Baritone. The trebles are strong; the mids rich; the bass articulate–and all working together harmoniously. This one’s got headroom for heavier attack, but response for a gentler touch too. Walnut back and sides, Tunnel 13 Redwood on top, Butternut neck, and a silk-smooth setup. Ready for a real Baritone? Step up and tune in with this Petros Tunnel 13 Baritone.

It’s that good. The only way a Kim Walker could sound better to our ears is if it’s had decades of music put through its fibers–and this 2000 Walker SJ A Deluxe has that in spades. Wide awake and oh so expansive. Rich! In a word. But also so clean, clear, and expressive. The Sitka Spruce top has some sweet bearclaw figuring, and pairs perfectly with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Ivoroid bindings, and a delicate vine-and-flower at the headstock. This comes in with Kim’s Deluxe A appointment package, which we love for its understated aesthetic that channels to the timelessness of the classic American flattop in Kim’s own way.

Oh, to lose track of time with this piece of history. Our 1944 000-21 is a sweet dream made reality; last year Martin exclusively used Adirondack Spruce, and one of the last serial numbers to have scalloped braces; straight-lace Brazilian Rosewood back and sides; silk-smooth setup. The voice has the liveliness and depth that can only come with age, and is a treat to behold under both fingertips and flatpicks. 21-Style appointments throughout, herringbone rosette, and original case and finish, as are the bridge and plate.

Tex! Is raring to go. This 1944 Martin D-18, affectionately dubbed “Tex” for its namesake carved on the top (plus “Duncan” below that), is so explosively energetic that you breathe on the strings and it goes to eleven. Quick, lively, with a crisp fundamental like the best Mahogany/Adi combo you ever heard. This is a road warrior that’s not road weary; wide awake. Extensive finish checks and play wear only add to the package. If you’re ready for a 1944 D-18 that packs a cold hard punch, sign on for a ride with this seasoned singer.

Ah, to have the real deal in your hands. This piece of Martin history strikes hard, and strikes true, with every note. Huge voice, powerful but precise, with more gears under the hood than you can shake a fist full of picks at. Our 1938 Martin D-28 is the epitome of the herrringbone dread. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with hints of mill marks, and a forward-shifted Adirondack Spruce top that has all of the dried out and woke up qualities we expect from an 85-year-old top. This beauty has been played in extensively and is firing on all cylinders, and our repair staff have gone over it extensively for a clean bill of health. If you’re up to the challenge, this ’38 D-28 prewar powerhouse is ready to go.

This SJ comes to us as a well preserved example of Jim Olson’s handiwork from the 1990s. A build date right in the middle at 1995 puts this beauty at 29 years young today, and it’s still going strong and ready for action. Indian Rosewood body with Cedar top, and both have been trimmed out with addtional purflings and Abalone for a striking, outstanding aesthetic. You’ll find an intricate series of fleur-de-lis position markers and at the bridge wings extend the pearl motif; ditto for the headplate trim. The end result is a dressed-to-the-nines ’95 Olson SJ.

If Michael Greenfield has ever built a dud, we haven’t seen it. Quite the opposite, in fact. We haven’t seen a Greenfield that didn’t knock us out right out the gate. Take this 2018 G1 as a great example. Effortless playability, a voice with sweetness and riches and a slight midrange bump that makes for an engrossing, complete sound–the best tonewoods you’re like to find on a modern build–ergonomic features to maximize player comfort. This G1 does it all. The back and sides are Mike’s reserve grade, 80-year-old Cocobolo, here paired with an Adirondack Spruce top, Honduran Mahogany neck, and a Laskin-inspired arm bevel. Additional appointments include a heel “swoosh” carve, florentine cutaway, clear pickguard, and custom splatter-style Calton flight case.

Ready for a Traugott that packs a punch? This 2014 Model R Long Neck is just what the doctor ordered. Spec’d out with a long 27 inch scale (but voiced for light gauge strings, aka not a baritone) in Jeff’s classic Brazilian Rosewood/German Spruce combination makes for a snappy response and sweet note definition across the range. And don’t be scared off by the long scale–this Model R plays very well indeed, set up for fingerstyle ease all along the fretboard.

Sign in for this 2019 Huss & Dalton OM Custom if you’re looking for a workhorse that’s gorgeous to boot. Sinker Redwood top plus a uniquely colored Cocobolo body makes for a great mix of warm tones and crisp definition, to say nothing of the striking aesthetic. This beauty is nearly new and ready for more action.

Here’s a Petros that’s at home in just about every setting. The voice is characterized by evenness and clarity, with great balance across the strings for both fingerstyle and flatpicking play, while the Grand Concert body size is big enough for power and projection, but still perfectly sized for comfort. Back and sides are a light colored set of Ceylon Satinwood, of which we’ve only seen a handful of guitars, and Petros paired that with an Alaskan Yellow Cedar top, plus Tasmanian Blackwood bindings, additional Abalone trim and appointments, and a venetian style cutaway. EVO frets are still going strong since 2015, and let’s be honest they’re going to continue to hold up great for years to come. A slender 1 11/16″ nut makes for quick lefthand work, paired with a slick setup for easy peasy playability, and a Fishman Ellipse pickup carries you right onto stage. Comes wrapped up in a custom Karura flight case!

Classy, glassy, and effortlessly playable. This 2022 Å-OM from Ted Åstrand is a treasure of modern lutherie. Not only is it outfitted with some of the world’s best tonewoods, Brazilian Rosewood and Swiss Moonspruce, it’s further appointed with a fresh, clean green-hued aesthetic and silky play feel for a unique guitar experience, both in hand and for the eyes. Satin finish on a Mahogany neck, high gloss nitrocellulose elsewhere; gold EVO frets set off the Ebony fingerboard perfectly. There are understated green purflings throughout the trim package, as well as at the side dots, and for the back plate of the headstock Ted opted for a matching green veneer which creates an exciting contrast with the gold Rodgers tuners. Just above the fingerboard extension, two parrots are inlaid with simple MOP This comes to us as a The North American Guitar build.

Wide open, singing all the way to the back of the music hall, and looking the part of the road worn and road tested. This 2016 Slope Shoulder from the Pre-War Guitar Co. is exciting, easy to play, and just plain old fun. Mahogany back and sides with Torrefied Adirondack Spruce top, nitro finish, and a level three distress job to make it look the part of a proper vintage piece–add a round C neck and slim weight (under four pounds), and you’ve got a livewire itching to go.

Here’s something you don’t see every day. This is one of the exclusive run of 100 limited edition guitars that Martin built in 1997 to commemmorate Mr. Blue Yodel himself, the one and only Jimmie Rodgers–number seven of that exclusive 100, in fact. Martin has recreated Rodgers’ 1928 000-45 that he custom ordered, right down to “Blue Yodel” and “Jimmie Rodgers” inlaid along the fingerboard and headplate, and of course Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and Adirondack Spruce on top. The pearl work is exquisite throughout! The only modern touch is the inclusion of an adjustable truss rod in the neck. Otherwise, this is old school through and through.

A modern rendition of a vintage classic. We’re stoked to have this powerhouse D-18 from Japanese luthier Hiroshi SudaHonduran Mahogany with Adirondack Spruce, 18-style appointments, and an immediately vibrant and expressive voice. What’s not to like? The neck profile is just a touch fuller than average, which totally fits the vintage inspiration, and the overall build weight is a svelte 4lbs 3oz, making this 2016 Suda D-18 exceedingly comfortable to play. It’s incredible to hear how wide open the Adi top sounds after just a few years, and we can only imagine the heights its bound for in the future.
