Tacchi developed the 3 piece top combining Cedar outer boards with Alpine Spruce in the center after hearing a Torres model with softer spruce surrounding stiffer spruce. This design makes for trebles that ‘ring like a bell’ says Tacchi and we can confirm that. Rarely have we heard such clear and present treble strings on a nylon guitar. I love to see fresh ideas in guitar making. Many builders manipulate the stiffness of the outer edges of the top in comparison with the center. But combing Cedar and Spruce boards is an ingenious way to create an active top. The result is very articulate, bell-like, trebles that are sure to satisfy any player. These are some of the most expressive and poignant treble strings I've ever heard. If you are after a truly special instrument, look no further.
