Linda Manzer needs little introduction to the guitar aficionado, but if you’ve never played one of her Baritone Guitars read on… Linda has a real knack for Baritone instruments, as evidenced by Pat Metheny’s use of one just like this one below on his ‘One Quiet Night’ CD. The purity and clarity of voice, that all her instruments share, really sets her long scale guitars apart. This stunning Koa and German Spruce Wedge body is small, by baritone standards, yet the voice is full and satisfying. The Koa offers great separation of notes played anywhere on the fingerboard. The playing dimensions are 1 3/4″ at the nut and 2 1/4″ at the saddle, again slightly smaller than some baritones, but combined with the body size and neck profile make this bari easy to hold and play. The 28.75″ scale easily handles low A tunings and can come up to B or C depending on string gauges. To sum it up, Linda knows Baritones…
I play Baritone everyday, it's one of my passions in the guitar world and this Manzer is unique and exciting to me. It's a slightly smaller body and neck profile, making it very easy to hold for any guitarist. Like all baritones, the string tension is gentle and easy to play, and the voice is superbly clear and articulate. I really like the expression of the top string on this guitar, melodies truly 'sing' as they should. One great thing about Baritones is how well they accompany the male voice. It's wonderful to play songs that would normally be in D or E at standard pitch down to A or B. Singing them there can be a joy. If you've never played a baritone, it's just like guitar but a whole new color. Come on down to the low side of town!
