2021 Galloup G.6CA, Brazilian Rosewood/Italian Spruce
We love, love, love this powerhouse 2021 G.6CA from Bryan Galloup. We picked out a fantastically straight-grained Brazilian Rosewood set for the back and sides, which was then paired with Italian Spruce for smoothness and sustain to match the power and dynamic response. A multiscale setup of 26 inches at the bass to 25 at the treble adds a touch of sweetness to the high-end as well. Moreover, this beauty has an arm bevel and a smoothly curving venetian cutaway for added creature comforts.

Brand new at the time of listing, this 2024 Galloup G.6C is dressed in stunning Koa and Cedar. You may be wondering, a Galloup in Cedar? Yes, it’s that rare. Which means this is some seriously fine Cedar for the top. Bryan has rigorous standards for the tops of his guitars, and Cedar rarely makes the cut, so you know this one is special. Reconstructed stone appointments in a lovely mint green provide a striking contrast to the earthy tones of the Cedar and Koa. This guitar features all the qualities we know and love about Galloup guitars, with a fresh twist on materials. It’s one of those instruments that’s hard to put down and makes it tough to get any work done.

From 2017, we have an excellent example of the magic that comes from Bryan Galloup’s bench: a G.2C large body guitar with a cutaway, Brazilian rosewood everywhere, and some incredible Italian spruce on top. This guitar has had a few years to open up, and it’s very lively. It features natural aesthetics and a powerful modern tone. Frankly, this guitar handles a wide variety of techniques and styles so well it’s ridiculous—flatpicking, fingerstyle, fingerpicks, you name it. This guitar would be perfect for the studio or the concert hall.

Our latest client commission from Bryan Galloup has arrived–and it does not disappoint. In typical fashion, this G.6CAM has a huge voice but remains clean and balanced across the registers, is upgraded with highly figured Brazilian Rosewood and Italian Spruce on top, plus the added benefits of an arm bevel and a multiscale fingerboard setup for added power on the bottom end. Take this Galloup to C tuning territory, and it retains every ounce of fluency.

Brand New and already oh so awake. Our latest G.2c from Bryan Galloup is phenomenal, and dressed to prove it. Brazilian Rosewood body with Italian Spruce on top, 25.5” scale, and some tasty appointments with interrupted profilings and geometric motifs. Playability is glass smooth, as is the voice. The top end has a lovely bell quality and some insane overtones; this Galloup has a rare quality of natural reverb that fills the room. It’s frankly haunting. Equally at home with Standard tuning as it is with DADGAD, or even C9.

Incredible! A complete instrument in every note. Bryan Galloup is building some of the finest guitars we’ve ever seen, and he’s working alongside some of our favorite luthiers on the scene to boot. This 2019 G.2C is a powerhouse. Striking Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Italian Spruce top with Adirondack Spruce bracing, nitro finish and hide glue construction—Bryan applies the scientific method to his building, yielding consistently consistent guitars like his responsive G.2C. We love the definition between the registers, and the crisp presence of individual notes; they burst right out of the soundhole under even a delicate attack. The larger lower bout helps flesh out the bass response, and we had so much fun tuning this beauty down into D and even C territory to really bring out that bottom end growl. Waverly tuners keep the neck weight down, and Galloup installed a sharp-looking pinless bridge and added a contour to the heelblock to give the left hand even easier access to the upper frets via the Venetian Cutaway. Across the BRW back, you’ll find a contemporary design inlaid with right angles and razor-straight purflings. And it all comes wrapped up safe and sound in a custom fitted Hoffee flight case.

***Update! We’ve secured CITES paperwork for the Brazilian Rosewood on this beauty, which means we can ship this BRW Galloup internationally!***
Bryan Galloup takes the science of lutherie seriously: and the experiment proves sweetly successful. This G.2C, Bryan’s grand auditorium body here with a cutaway, has an incredible dynamic range, lots of gears, and a surgically crisp projection and note separation. A finer fingerstyle guitar, you’ll be hard pressed to find. Straight-grained Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with Italian Spruce on top and an intricate series of inlays around the rosette, along the back, and between the tuner posts really brings together a modern, geometric aesthetic.
It’s hard to put this guitar down. Once we had the G.2C in our hands, we really just lost track of time. This Galloup will make some enemies when you bring it home; your other guitars will be collecting dust.Other keywords: lutherie, luthier, guitarbuilding, guitar science, dream team, fingerstyle, fingerpicking, contemporary guitar, resonant, exclusive

G.2C powerhouse! Bryan Galloup’s grand auditorium strikes a well-honed balance between power and clarity, dynamism and definition. It’s an incredible guitar, dressed to the nines in straight-grained Wenge and Italian Spruce and some really impressive inlays along the headstock, rosette, and back. Do we love this guitar? Yes, yes we do. It’s a testament to Bryan’s tuning technologies that this guitar has such a finely honed voice, and plays so well in so many different settings. We loved taking this one into C tunings just as much as Standard. If there’s a bad note on this G.2C, we haven’t found it yet.

We’re exceedingly fortunate to be able to work with some of the greatest luthiers alive today, among them Bryan Galloup. We just took in this brand new G.4 from Bryan after the 2019 Swannanoa Gathering Guitar Week, and frankly we feel hard pressed to let this one go. Brick-red Brazilian Rosewood back and sides are paired with a German Spruce top and 12-fret neck in a smaller package that lends extra sweetness to the trebles. This Galloup is an excellent fingestyle instrument, and plays as easily as breathing. The bass register is equal parts warmth and definition, which really rounds out the overall voice. Bryan stepped up his game by stepping the wings of the bridge (see photos for a closeup!) and inlaying the back with long geometric patterns, as well as around the soundhole. This work of functional art comes wrapped up in a custom Hoffee flight case.

Recipe for a great guitar: 1) choose classic tonewoods, 2) dial in the setup for slick playability, and 3) get Bryan Galloup to build it. Our 2012 Borealis is a beast with appointments that stand out from the crowd, and projection to level doors. Indian Rosewood back and sides, Sitka Spruce top, Laskin-style arm bevel, cutaway, and the piéce de resistance: wine glass inlays across the fretboard extension. We’d like to think it’s a Malbec to match the lively and spicy tone.
As we mentioned, the setup has that slick quality to it that guarantees effortless playability, in standard tuning and beyond. 25 1/2 inch scale gives a smidgeon extra bite to the bass, and the 1 3/4 inch nut feels right at home.
When a guitar plays this well, and sings this sweetly, it’s difficult to put it down. Be prepared to annoy friends and family when you start making excuses to slip away and pick up this Galloup Borealis again. Just one more tune, honest!

Bryan Galloup started his career working with world-famous repairman and author Dan Erlewine. Together they pioneered lutherie techniques and tools which have become standard in the business today. Bryan took over the Guitar Hospital in 1986, when Dan moved to Ohio to do research and development for Stewart MacDonald, the guitar shop supply company. Bryan built on the business Dan created, and founded Galloup Guitars’ School of Lutherie. Bryan uses the knowledge gained from thirty years of restoring fine vintage guitars to create excellent new instruments of his own. His restoration techniques have been featured in numerous magazines, books, and videos.Today the shop has now grown to become the 4500 sq. ft. climate-controlled facility that is Galloup Guitars, with wood processing capabilities that ensure the finest, most stable woods. Galloup tone woods are air seasoned after kiln drying and rotated on at least a two-year cycle so they remain stable through climate and seasonal changes.Except for the frets and tuners, every part of a Galloup Guitar is built in-house. Even the finishes are unique: resulting from Bryan’s years of testing and collaboration with coating companies. The finish on your Galloup guitar is a premium high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer that doesn’t dampen the instruments’ acoustic performance or sacrifice wood protection.
