This guitar is #2 of the 91 made for the 200th anniversary of Christian Frederich Martin Sr.’s birth in 1796. It has pre-ban Brazilian rosewood for its sides, back and peg head and a fossil ivory saddle and bridge pins. The vintage toner, forward shifted scalloped bracing and modified “V” shaped neck give it a distinctive vintage look, feel and sound. There are gorgeous 45 style appointments including abalone trim not just on the fingerboard but on the neck following the fingerboard, headstock and heel. This guitar has been kept in excellent condition by its single owner. The Brazilian set is beautiful and dark with lovely figure as well. This is a truly collectible Martin D-45, particularly having serial #2.

This guitar is a faithful recreation of Clarence White’s D-28 that Tony Rice now owns. It has a larger soundhole, no tongue brace, and even the fingerboard is slightly cantilevered over the soundhole. The label is signed By C. F. Martin IV & Michelle White Bledsoe, Numbered in Sequence w/ Total (Limited to 150). The wide grained Adirondack top on this particular CW makes this one a cannon, its very strong and clear.

The forward-shifted scalloped top braces, diamond neck volute, and tapered headstock enhance the vintage character of the Keb Mo Signature guitar. A low profile neck with wide ebony fingerboard, 1 3/4” inches at the nut, and jumbo frets makes it perfect for fingerstyle or flatpicking. Both the nut and compensated saddle are crafted from genuine bone. Keb’ Mo’s signature is inlaid between the 19th and 20th frets and the label is personally signed by Keb’ Mo’ and Martin Chairman and CEO, C. F. Martin IV. It’s one of the best sounding rosewood Dreads we’ve ever heard regardless of model. It’s extremely lively with great projection and the sound it throws across the room is complex and complete. Chimey highs and deep, rich bass notes abound. By the way we love Jim Croce and this guitar is a great tribute!

We acquired this beauty from a local customer in great condition. We had Bill Tippin do a setup and replace the pickguard and now it’s ready for it’s next owner. This is a 1976 Martin D-35 with a very pretty sunburst. It’s all original, but for the guard, and sounds amazing. The years have been kind and really made this one wide open, it’s truly one of the best sounding dreads we’ve seen regardless of price or model number. If you want a great Dread from that mecca in Nazareth, PA, look and listen to this one.

Some feel that Martin is making far too many Signature Editions these days, but this is one that works because it’s design is different and has real merit. The Norman Blake Signature Edition incorporates a 000 sized body, slotted headstock, V neck profile, short scale, a 12 Fret neck, a bridge in the sweet spot and braces that are scalloped. All of that adds up to tone, sweet tone… If Martin guitars were priced on tone alone, this would be five times the price. Blake fans read on….

In 1915 Martin Guitars made only 161 guitars. The penciled signature on the bottom side of the this guitar’s top reads ‘#12061, 2/4/15, F.H.M’. This signature may indicate Frank Henry Martin signed this very guitar. This great sounding Martin 0-18 is braced with a scalloped X and was properly modified to accept steel strings with a larger bridge plate and a pyramid bridge installed. The overall condition and playability is great and the voice has that magical early 20th Century flair, big, open and beautiful, like a piano. This is a very rare and collectible Martin Guitar that can also be played and enjoyed every day.
