When we commissioned this guitar, we chose the very best Brazilian Rosewood available – and that quality is evident in the tone. This M1 is lush, rich in overtones, and wonderfully complex in detail.

Here Michi created custom wood inlays for the rosette, top trim and headstock that all blend together as a complete work of art. A beautiful, ergonomically crafted instrument from Michihiro Matsuda. The Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and European Spruce top make for a guitar with well balanced, shimmering tone. This wonderfully ornamented has hand inlaid spalted maple in the headplate, purflings framing the fingerboard, an elegant partial rosette and a sculpted bridge.

This Matsuda M1 is delightfully playable. An excellent guitar for fingerstyle play, featuring Michihiro’s trademark ergonomic neck heel carve along with an artistic side soundport executed in Matsuda style.
