This is why we are called Dream Guitars, because of instruments like this. Here we have a Henderson D-45 in Premium quality Adirondack (Red) Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood, that has been revoiced by the godfather of modern fingerstyle guitar himself Ervin Somogyi. This is an ultimate example of two worlds meeting in the realm of lutherie. This dreadnought maintains its flatpicking, and robust quality all the while preserving that power in the hands of a fingerstyle player. This instrument is truly one of a kind, and an absolute masterpiece at that, for the player and collector alike.

If you are a follower of Wayne Henderson guitars you know that they are all rare, wonderful, and highly sought after. What we have here is the rarest of Hendersons, a D-45 Deluxe Tree Of Life in Brazilian Rosewood and Red Spruce which comes to us from 2016. You are certain to gasp and drool over this one, we certainly have been. Wayne makes precious few of this model of guitar, the sheer amount of time, material and skill that goes into building such a guitar is impressive, and certainly limits the opportunity to make many of them. This is the true collector’s dream guitar! While this guitar certainly has the looks, that isn’t the only trick in its bag. The Henderson tonal pedigree is in full show here, big open basses, barking mids, and smooth trebles. This is the definition of a once in a lifetime guitar, don’t miss out!

Dontcho Ivanov does Flamed Maple right! This 2017 Snow Parlor combines a sleek, striking visual aesthetic with an expressive blend of warm bass notes and voluptuous trebles; not to mention Dontcho’s icy smooth setup and spacious 1 13/16″ nut for a play feel that’s easy on the hands.
The Italian Spruce top colors the entire voice with a creamy layer of delicious overtones which fill out the Snow Parlor’s tone–perfect for when you want that enveloping, lush sound. Open tunings are orchestral with this guitar (playing in Open D is really, well, open!). Dontcho’s craftsmanship is incredible with each joint seemingly seamless and an overall snowflake weight to match its name. Sustain and a small-bodied guitar don’t always go hand in hand, but with this 2017 Snow Parlor the notes hang for long seconds in the air.Additional Demo: https://youtu.be/GHWgPF2N858

Originally sold by us back in 2010, this Grand Concert from Michael Keller has come full circle, returning to the shop 15 years later. Crafted from a lush set of Brazilian Rosewood and paired with a Red Cedar top, this guitar has opened up beautifully with time and play. The voice is wide open, articulate, and rich with overtones—everything we love about Cedar and Brazilian in concert together.
It comes equipped with a McIntyre Feather pickup system and travels in an Ameritage hardshell case. This Keller is ready for its next chapter with a new player.
From the late, great Al Petteway, who reviewed the guitar when we first listed it in 2010.
“Beautifully balanced and beautiful to look at as well, this guitar is a winner. The combination of a Cedar top with the Brazilian Rosewood back and sides gives this guitar a rich, clear tone that will appeal to most fingerstyle players.” https://youtu.be/DF2RdjN-hBk

Michael Keller left behind an impressive body of work, just like this 2009 Jumbo. Offset soundholes and dual soundports make for a powerful bass response and responsiveness, and that coupled with over a decade of music under its belt makes for a wide awake and vivid voice. African Blackwood back and sides against Engelmann Spruce top; multi-laminated Mahogany neck with a slender profile; striking red purflings and MOP/Abalone throughout. This Keller Jumbo has been upfitted with a Fishman Matrix pickup as well.

We recently lost Michael Keller, and the luthier community feels that loss keenly. So we’re delighted to have this 2014 Dreadnought in the shop to honor his memory and find a new home for it. Eight years old and waking up very nicely, the voice is open and expressive with great note separation. As a result, it’s at home with fingerpicking as well as of course flatpicking. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides pair with Adirondack Spruce on top, Abalone trim and snowflakes/diamonds position markers–and Michael upgraded this Dread with a soundport in the upper bout side. This has the effect of giving the player a bit more “me in the monitor,” making it easier to hear your tone when playing with those pesky other musicians in the group. When you want to go electric, the installed Fishman Matrix Natural pickup will take you there.

This guitar has a depth and fullness to the sound that is truly unique. Everyone here at the shop gets lost in it as soon as it is played. This guitar leaves nothing to be desired.

This Klein M43 from 1997 offers a subtle glimpse into what Klein & Kauffman guitars are renowned for today. This variation features an offset soundhole, which creates an even more unique sonic soundscape with this instrument. Wielding it feels powerful; hearing it is moving, and looking at it encompasses both of those experiences. The Maple back and sides exhibit extreme chatoyance, reminiscent of looking into the bottom of a swimming pool in summer. The spruce top has aged just as finely in sound as it has in hue. But enough of us gushing over this—listen to the sample and watch the video for yourself. Brace yourself.

Klein & Kaufman crafted this beast in 1996. An absolute stunning set of Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides, with a gorgeous Spruce top. This guitar has had nearly 30 years of play at time of publication, and it certainly lets you know. All of the characteristics that we know and love about Klein & Kaufman guitars are present in this build. Powerful bass, and trebles that truly stand out. You’ll notice that there is something funky about this particular instrument, funky? Fungal? Ah yes, there are beautiful abalone mushrooms filling in the fingerboard and headplate. This is such a unique and singular piece that it made its way into the book “The Guitar” by Nick Freeth and Charles Alexander. These guitars are beloved by many famous wielders of the axe! Steve Martin, Joni Mitchell and Andy Summers to name a few. If you’re looking for an incredibly inspirational instrument as well as an exciting addition to any collection–look no further.
