From the Froggy Bottom website: “The Model H14 is built with a scale length 1/4” longer than its nearest relative (H12). The resulting increase in tension, coupled with its slightly shorter body and higher bridge placement, produces a guitar that is excellent for everything from ragtime and country blues to articulate flat-picking and strumming.” To summarize in our words this guitar is versatile with a capital ‘V’. Here we have a stunning OM in Madagascar Rosewood and Adirondack (Red) Spruce from Fujii Guitars. This is our idea of a well thought out guitar, the lines are clean and elegant, every motif executed to perfection. The rosette on this guitar is breathtaking, it is rare to see so delicate of a design on a steel string guitar, we would usually equate such a thing to a classical, it works wonderfully here. Apart from being thoroughly enjoyable eye candy, this OM keeps pace in the tone department. This is a modern fingerstyle guitar through and through, the bass is round and full while the trebles are fat and melodic, accompanied by a wonderful punch in the mids. We have enjoyed this guitar to the extreme, every one here at DG has oohed and ahhed over this one, it is Incredible.

This is an extraordinary guitar that we picked up from Julian Gaffney at this years Wodstock guitar show. Julian is a current apprentice in the Somogyi shop, so we can tell you straight out of the gate that Julian has the chops and really understands how to build an exceptional guitar. This is an OM model in East Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce. We are always impressed by the quality builders and guitars that comes out of the Somogyi apprenticeship, Julian has done great work here. There is Somogyi vibe that we love, with plenty of Julians own taste thrown in the mix, this is a beautiful piece of art to look at and to hold. The real star here of this guitar is the tone, it has the big sonorous bass that the Somogyi school is known for, with shimmering and round trebles. This is a guitar that you will have no problem getting lost in, as a matter of fact we dare you not to.
